CBI students receive a minimum of 120 hours of classroom instruction in each of their studies and have the ability to access a wide variety of services tailored to their needs. Students will have the opportunity to make up credits by taking virtual classes if they pay the online fee. The number of years a student participates in the CBI Program will be decided by SCCTC and based on the student's success and needs. Valuable work experience with local companies will be implemented and classroom interaction with instructors helps develop vital core competencies that keep students engaged. Work based learning experiences can be paid and vary in length of time. The Career Based Intervention Program (CBI) is designed to help students progress to graduation. A big part of the CBI program is to become proficient on the Ohio Graduation Tests and be instructed with course work that will prepare them for life after high school. The program combines classroom participation with work-based learning experiences for 11th and 12th graders. CBI focuses on students that have been determined to be academically and/or economically, (or both) disadvantaged. It provides an opportunity for the student to improve academic competencies, implement a career plan and participate in a career pathway in preparation for post secondary education and careers. |
