Building Technology

Today, in a host of different industries, more focus is placed on the most efficient use of resources to keep a property and its grounds in top shape. This program of studies introduces students to career opportunities that deal with physical properties, specifically their care, maintenance and repair.

The Building Technology program is a two-year program. Students learn the basics of finish and rough carpentry, electricity, plumbing, masonry and job seeking skills in the first year. The first year is dedicated to project based instruction and on-site training at local companies. During the second year students will apply and demonstrate knowledge and skills in a work-study environment.

The goal of this program is to help students find employment after graduation. Average entry year wage is minimum wage. Average wage for an experienced employee is between minimum wage and $12.00 per hour.
